Frequently Asked Questions - Financial ConcernsWhen will tuition bills be mailed and when is payment due?Fee bills are now issued electronically (E-Bill). Paper statements are no longer mailed by the University. Parents or guardians need to be designated by their student as an authorized user, in order to log on and view their student's account and fee bill. Fall semester fee bills are usually posted in late June/early July and are due on August 1. Spring semester fee bills are posted in late November and are due by January 8. There is a $50 late fee if payment is not received by the deadline. How should scholarship awards be forwarded to UConn?Scholarship awards should be sent to the Bursar’s office: When should my son/daughter apply for financial aid?The Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may be submitted any time on or after January 1. In order to receive "on time" financial aid status the FAFSA must be received and logged on or before March 1. For more information, please visit the FAFSA website. My son/daughter applied for financial aid last year; does he/she have to apply again?Students who need financial aid must apply for it every year of their college enrollment, as financial circumstances and family situations may change from year to year. Such changes can affect financial aid eligibility. How many credits must my son/daughter take to be eligible for financial aid?All students must enroll in a minimum of 6 credits, which makes them eligible for a Pell Grant or a Stafford Loan. In order to be eligible for other forms of University aid, students must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits (which is the minimum number of credits a student needs to be considered full-time). For further information regarding financial aid, please visit the Financial Aid Services website or call (860) 486-2819. How can my son/daughter find a job on campus? There are two different types of student employment available on campus:
Students must be enrolled full time to maintain eligibility for Work-Study. For those students who do not receive Federal Work-Study, the University offers student labor jobs. Students who want to obtain a student labor job must be enrolled for credit in a degree-seeking program. Student labor jobs are posted immediately prior to the start of the semester. For a list of student jobs, visit the Student Employment website.
